Objective: The aim of our study was to perform a survey of Italian graduate students (medical doctors) attending Public Health Schools, in order to assess the importance and training needs concerning Health Technology Assessment (HTA) during their public health postgraduate education. Training needs of teachers in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) is one of the key aspects for the integration of ICT in daily educational practice, along with competences in ICT and the use of these technological resources by teachers. The aim of this paper is to establish teacher training profiles and relate them to their competences in ICT and the use thereof, together with personal and contextual factors. Management and Human Factors: Exploratory Research With Focus Groups

The article analyzes the training needs of managers belonging to public and private companies in the Region of Sicily, Italy, using focus groups. Fifty-two managers took part in the research—32 executives and 20 employees with intermediate positions in collaboration with senior management. This is a qualitative research with explorative purposes whose approach is part of the symbolic interactionism paradigm. Data analysis, supported by the Atlas.ti software, has permitted the coding of the meanings underlying the text of the narratives and identifying four “code families” as key themes of the observed reality. Teaching and Sexual Prejudices. New Training Needs

Abstract This study focused on the future trainers’ attitude in respect of gender, sex and sexual orientation. Contrary to previous research studies, which associate to a greater knowledge a better attitude, our results shown that prejudices are still present even for graduate students. Therefore, it urges a reflection on a new teaching paradigm able to provide a plural gender identity vision. Training processes must be more than a mere intellectual education: a reflection on professional future.

This volume describes the ideational effort required to design and implement a training-course model for "Experts in proximity violence”. Proximity violence concerns multiple forms of gender-based violence which conceal, in turn, more subtle, intimate and viscous forms of dependence. The course was based on modules and availed itself of a "mixed" methodology, where theoretical lectures were interwoven with experiential workshops.
